Do you like to help others? If you are happy to chat on the phone and support people by giving information that can make all the difference to their lives, this could be the role for you.
We provide induction training and ongoing one to one support to make sure you are ready and able to pick up the phone to talk to people who need your help.
The helpline is open 9am to 5pm, on weekdays, and we prefer to split that time into two ‘shifts’ (usually 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm) – though we can be quite flexible about timings.
This is based in Sheffield and receives over 4,000 calls and 1,000 emails every year from people seeking advice and reassurance. The topics we cover include information about the condition, how to deal with symptoms, how to cope with the effects on people’s lives and the best way of accessing support and help quickly.
